Sark Island

Updated: Jun 30, 2022

Just a 50 minute cruise ride from Jersey, Sark feels like an entire world away. Considered the crown jewel of the Channel Islands, prepare to step back in time with a visit to beautiful Sark. With cars prohibited, the island’s unspoilt landscape and charming unpaved roads are best explored on bike or horse-drawn carriage. It’s ideal for a day trip, however an overnight stay is when the world’s first designated Dark Sky Island shows her magic.

Explore on Two Wheels

Cycling on Sark is not only a charming pastime, it is the preferred day-to-day mode of transport for many locals, and proves a very easy way to get around for day-trippers and those visiting the island for a couple of days. Rent a bike and get out in the lanes. With no cars on the island, you’ll just need to wave to the occasional tractor or horse-drawn carriage on your travels.
